Privacy Policy
Alfred's Revelstoke Last updated: July 3, 2026
Alfred's ("Alfred's," "we," "us," or "our") operates the restaurant located at 302 1 St W, Revelstoke, British Columbia, and the website www.alfreds.ca (the "Site"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
This policy is written to comply with British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and, where applicable, Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
1. Information We Collect
Reservations. When you book a table through OpenTable or the DINR app, those platforms collect information such as your name, phone number, email address, party size, and any preferences or dietary notes you provide. This information is shared with us so we can honour your reservation and provide you with a great experience.
Gift cards and purchases. Gift card purchases are processed by Square. Square collects your name, contact details, and payment information. We do not store your full credit card number on our systems.
Newsletter. If you sign up for our email updates, we collect your email address and, if provided, your name. We only send marketing emails with your express consent, and every email includes an unsubscribe link.
Contact forms and email. If you reach out through our contact page or by email — for general inquiries, events, or private bookings — we collect the information you choose to provide.
Website usage. Our Site is hosted on Squarespace, which uses cookies and similar technologies to keep the Site functioning and to provide basic analytics (such as pages visited, browser type, and approximate location). You can manage cookies through your browser settings.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use personal information to:
Manage reservations, waitlists, and seating
Process gift card orders and payments
Respond to inquiries and coordinate events or private bookings
Send email updates about menus, events, and news (with your consent)
Accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies you've told us about
Operate, maintain, and improve our Site
Meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
3. Third-Party Services
We work with a small number of service providers who process personal information on our behalf or as independent operators:
OpenTable — future-day reservations
DINR — same-day and exclusive reservations
Square — gift cards and payment processing
Squarespace — website hosting, forms, and email campaigns
Instagram and Facebook (Meta) — social media pages
Each of these providers has its own privacy policy governing the information you provide directly to them. We encourage you to review their policies. Some providers may store or process data on servers located outside of Canada (including the United States), where it may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions.
4. Consent
By providing personal information to us, you consent to its collection, use, and disclosure as described in this policy. In most cases, consent is implied by the context — for example, providing your phone number when booking a table implies consent to us contacting you about that booking. For email marketing, we rely on your express opt-in consent as required by CASL.
You may withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions, by contacting us using the details below. Withdrawing consent may limit our ability to provide certain services (for example, we can't hold a reservation without contact information).
5. How Long We Keep Your Information
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described above or as required by law (for example, financial records must be retained for tax purposes). When no longer needed, information is securely deleted or anonymized.
6. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information against loss, theft, and unauthorized access, including limiting access to those who need it and relying on reputable service providers with their own security safeguards. That said, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your Rights
Under PIPA, you have the right to:
Request access to the personal information we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information
Withdraw consent to our use of your information
Ask questions or make a complaint about our privacy practices
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. We will respond within the timelines required by law. If you're not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
8. Children
Our Site and services are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
9. Links to Other Websites
Our Site contains links to third-party websites and apps (such as OpenTable, DINR, Square, Instagram, and Facebook). We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent version. Continued use of our Site or services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
